What's Happening at the Café?
February News and Events
Hi there!
We're already six weeks into 2024, so I thought it was a good time to fill you in on the latest news from our roastery!
On 27 January we held our first board game night, with players who share a love of coffee and of playing games with friends.
We've also sold out of the Rwanda Nyamagabe we offered as a limited edition in December. But don't worry: this month I was lucky enough to share a tasting of two excellent coffees with colleagues from the Specialty Coffee Association of Slovenia (zsks.si) – one from Burundi (from the Baroido estate) and one from Indonesia, from the Ribang Gayo Musara cooperative. I'm really happy that I'll be able to offer the Indonesian coffee later in February. Follow our Instagram profile @rnbcaferoasters to hear when new coffees arrive.
Next week, for Valentine's Day, new vegan doughnuts are waiting for you from the Vegana bakery – filled with strawberry jam and vanilla cream – as well as from the Deveta vas bakery. On the same day we'll also have a new strawberry cheesecake. Take a look at the photos – they're truly delicious!
Later this month, on Wednesday 21 February, we're hosting another Trivia Night, this time with a “music” theme. If you like trivia, these evenings are great fun; they run in our café from 7 pm to 10 pm. People usually form teams of at least 3 and at most 5, but don't worry if you're on your own and want to join in – we can put you in a team where you're sure to make new friends. Keep an eye out for our announcement on Instagram so you can sign up.
And finally, we're excited to announce the launch of the blog on our website, where we'll cover all sorts of topics, such as brewing coffee at home or the differences between roast levels. Let us know what you'd like us to write about! Check out our latest article, The 5 Most Common Mistakes People Make with a French Press.
